FS: 13" Barrel/Gaming saddle OR TRADE!

My daughter is quickly outgrowing her current western needs to go!

This little saddle is a great saddle. It was custom made for it's first owner in the 1980s by a small saddle maker in Texas (no brand stamp on the saddle). It has a 13" seat, braided rawhide horn, regular QH bars (about 6.75" gullet), hide covered hardwood tree, and is a medium color. It has nice hand carved corner tooling and a suede seat. It shows normal signs of wear, a few water spots, but it is in otherwise good condition. The fleece is in excellent condition.

The stirrups go short enough for a smaller child, but also let out long enough for someone with a 30" inseam without looking awkward. I am including a matching browband headstall, water tie ends. It has a cute teal/turquoise braided inlay on the browband and I will include the Les Vogt d-ring bit if you want it. It has copper inlays. I might have some braided black roping reins around to go with it.

The current latigo and off-billet are nylon, but I can replace those with new leathers ones for no extra charge. I also have a 30" neoprene cinch I throw in. It has a little rust and just a bit of cracking along one seem (away from the horse), but it's usable and safe!

According to the previous owner (we're the second owner), this saddle was purchased new (custom built) for $900 back in the mid-90s. I bought it used 3 years ago for $375. It's still in about the same condition now. I'm asking $300, with all the extras.

I can put a few layers of Hydrophane darkening oil on the saddle and headstall if you'd prefer a deeper tone. It will just slightly darken the color. The saddle and headstall will both be thoroughly cleaned and conditioned before being shipped.

Shipping is included in the price the saddle for those who live in the Southern part of the USA, around Arkansas (NM, CO, OK, MO, MS, LA, TX, TN, GA). Shipping to all other states is HALF (50%) of the ACTUAL shipping cost. PM or post your location for the shipping quote.

I need to sell this saddle to buy my daughter a new westerh saddle. She also needs a new western English http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...ilies/wink.gif. I take Paypal, Google Checkout, or Check/Money Order. Checks will be held until cleared before sending the saddles. I am also happy to do Payments over 90 days with a $100 deposit.

I would be willing to TRADE for a similar style saddle, 15" seat, QH or FQH bars. I like medium or dark oil, old vintage saddles that are in good condition would be okay too, depending on the style. I prefer square skirts.

Darn typos! The above has a mis-print. It was built in the late 1980s, NOT mid-90s. It's about 20 years old.

My husband didn't believe me that the western saddle was a 13", so we went out and measured it. Turns out, he's right! It's 13.5" to the edge of the padding, 14" to the smooth leather of the cantle. I can take a picture of it with a measuring tape on it if anyone wants to see how it measures.
