Leg strengthening?

So I've been riding for about 7 years, mostly in western. I'm just starting hunter and I've been going at it for about 8 months. I cannot seem to keep my calves still when I post at the trot! I try squeezing harder and it just gets frustrating. Ay suggestions on exercises or techniques? Please help!

When my lower legs move, it means I am not properly lined up over my center of gravity. Try this exercise. Stand straight up a few strides, post a few strides, sit a few strides. Lather-rinse-repeat. Something about changing the positions every few strides at the trot seems to reset your balance point, (mostly the standing part) and you will find you feel more centered over your feet.

^This. Also I've found doing a good two point for a few or more strides helps put your leg where it needs to be, sink your heels down low, and allows you to really wrap your legs around the barrel of the horse.

Stick a glove under your calf while you ride, a couple inches down from your knee.

Put your weight in your heel!

Lots of two point and riding without stirrups will help you with your leg strength. The exercises suggested are also good tools. I also find doing "two ups, one down" works well. Execute the "up" part of posting for two steps then sit one step and repeat. It also tends to help people that have trouble posting to the rhythm of the horse.
