A good pair of breeches?

I am new to English (I have been riding western since before I could walk) and I have my first English show coming up. It's a small, schooling show but I don't have breeches and need to know of a good brand to look for.

Does anyone wear a certain brand that they could not live without?

well Ariat is good, but it can get pretty pricy. I forgot what brand the ones i have are but to me most breeches are about the same. thats just my opinion though. i would spend a fair amount of money though so you dont get a pair that will rip on your first ride wearing them.

For affordable but decent, look at Ovation, Devon Aire, or Tuff Rider. Breeches go by waist size and low-rise/hipster styles tend to run small.

Here are some, most under $50, on Dover's web site.
Devon-Aire All-Pro Hipster Knee Patch Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
Tuff Rider Low Rise Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
Tuff Rider Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
Devon-Aire All-Pro Knee Patch Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
On Course Cotton Naturals Pull-On Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
Riding Sport Traditional Knee Patch Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery

Get a light tan/beige or light gray. Wear a white or light colored polo shirt or any long sleeve shirt and but a velvet helmet cover for your schooling helmet. Paddock boots and half chaps work well for schooling shows too.

I love the tuff rider ones

Personally, it doesn't matter all that much, but I have a pair of Tuff Rider breeches that I love!

Kerrit breeches are my absolute favorite!! I have two pairs that I use for schooling and they've held up really well. I ride almost everyday and they still look brand new after a year already, and will hopefully last longer. I also have a separate pair for showing so they stay nice and clean.

Other good brands are Ariat and TuffRider. Though I would stay away from Devon Aires because every pair I got from them fell apart within a month, though I am pretty rough with my breeches.

Cotton naturals all the way! I just bought a pair that fits(the pair i had before was too big) and the cotton feels incredibly amazing on my legs! I HATE the synthetic fabric from kerrits... or any other brand for that matter, it just doesn't feel right to me.
But everyone has different preferences for the kind they like, I've heard that devonaire and ariat are good brands for breeches. but may be a bit pricey. I would look for natural fabric, like cotton, when looking for good show breeches. Tan/beige/khaki are what they look for in the show ring, so I'd stick with those and save the purple/blue/pink ones for lessons!

I have these:
On Course Cotton Naturals Classic Riding Breeches - Dover Saddlery
I like the classic cut better than the low riders for show.. if your shirt isn't long enough to reach you pants, you're outta luck when you have to tuck it in! and the price is fairly inexpensive compared to TS(tailored sportsman) or ariat.

Go to walmart and see if they still have their stretchy, summer pants on sale. I got my 'breeches' for $3 that way.

I have a pair of Tailored's and a pair of Grand Prix and I love them both. The Grand Prix are a little less than the TS but still cost around $90. They are both good quality and I think they are comfortable.

I love devon aire, but I just bought a pair of ashley breeches and really like those! I got my devon aire for 18 and the ashley was under 30 bucks!
