Snapping hip syndrome and SI joint problems?
I just recently (about mid May) came off of a year long hiatus from riding regularly. I've been doing fine up until a week or so ago when I deveolped snapping hip syndrome in my right hip. This has been accompanied by discomfort and tightness in my right sacra-iliac joint. The SI joint also will make crackling noises when I rotate or extend my leg backwards.
None of this is accompanied by any real pain, but is it very uncomfortable and obnoxious.
I don't have any history of problems in my hips/SI joint, but I am horseback riding more per week than I ever have before my hiatus. I ride on average 4 or so times a week, and I used to ride about once per week.
I plan on talking to my doctor sometime this week but I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this and had some advice? I've read that horseback riders are prone to SI pain and snapping hip syndrome.
