Im looking to switch from my current grain (Purina Ultium) to something that will not make him hot or spooky. Are there any good grains/feed out there that will keep his energy up but keep him calm at the same time?
What type of brands can you get?
My hot tb is on Tribute's Kalm n Ez and beet pulp. He's much calmer on it then other feeds.
Safe choice And msm as supplement . No alfalfa.

IMO, you're on the best feed there is, that is mass produced. If you want to cut costs a little, you could feed Strategy and a little Ultium to keep the fat intake up.
If you're looking for a Purina product, Strategy Healthy Edge is high fat/high energy, but relatively low NSC for a Purina feed (~20%), which should make your horse less hot.
