Which Figure 8 Bridle?

I absolutely cannot decide which bridle to get for Gracie! There's only a $10 difference so price doesn't matter. I was planning on buying the fancy stitch, but just as I was going to actually do it I noticed the plain style underneath of it.

Plain Stitching.

Fancy Stitching.

I was looking into a figure 8 for the flash, so I guess the plain stitching would be more practical and easy to match with things further down the road? But then again the fancy stitch is so pretty! ...but would it be too busy on her face? Hmmm... what do you guys think?

And this is Gracie's face if you need a visual.

I'm leaning towards the plain one right now.

I vote for plain...but I am a minimalist in most things.

I vote plain.

I'd go with the fancy stitching, its classic and elegant! I mean, there isn't much else to "match" it with... and I don't think it will look too busy with her face(which is very adorable and cute btw!),
personally, I'd get the fancy (:

2/2. What a clear majority! Haha anyone else?

I like the plain.

I like the plain one. Though, if you had a horse with no facial markings and less color variation (like maybe a solid chestnut or gray) I might go with fancy :-P

Why do you even need a figure 8?

JustDressageIt 03-04-2009 05:09 PM

Some people (like me! :D ) love the look of a figure 8. I have no idea if that's the OP's stance on it, and if there are other issues to be addressed, then perhaps the OP should look into a schooling problem... but there are people out there that just adore the look of a figure 8 on a horse.
Mine really isn't even functional; it's just tight enough to make the bridle not look sloppy, but there is plenty of room for my horse to move.

ETA - the OP said "I want the figure 8 for the flash" so either she wants to quiet the bit in the mouth (she's using a loose ring in that picture, so that, imo, is fine) or she wants to make it so he can't open his mouth (imo not so fine).
