Hey I'm really sorry if i shouldn't of posted this here but i don't know where else to put it  Ok well i'm 5ft2 and weigh 110-115 i'm concerned about hurting the pony i ride he is 13.2hh So any opinions are appreciated. And before people start telling me about how his reins are to short and stuff Jake is in the process of being retrained to slow down as he rushes jumps and is fast in general that is why i keep my reins shorter also he sticks his head up and hits you in the face so i have to ride and jump in a somewhat weird position =) Thanks. ( one more thing he does jump pretty high and i'm not sure if the height of the jump would effect anything differently) :-)

No, you are not too big,

SorrelHorse 07-23-2013 05:09 AM

Oh not even close to too big...I barrel race on a 13.3hh "pony" (Erm, quarter horse c:) And have ridden lots of ponies smaller. I'm your size.

CandyCanes 07-23-2013 06:27 AM

I'm 6 foot and I ride a 13.3 hh pony. So no your not too big!

Definitely not too big :). I've ridden the same height of pony as him and I'm 5'5 and 120ish pounds.

Looks to be about a perfect match to me :)

Agreed, not too big at all. I'm 5'5 and with all my tack, total weight is around 175 (I ride western with a big heavy saddle). I spent a little over 2 months riding a pony that was 13.1. We rode for hours a day and I even roped off of him with no issues.

You're a hair to big for him, but thats no reason to stop riding him. You're a petite rider and he's a chunky guy for his height. I wouldnt worry about it.
