Homozygous for cat track gene?
I'm part of a semi-local horse group on FB and there are a lot of people advertising their horses for sale or at stud. There was recently a TWH stallion that is being advertised as "homozygous for the cat track gene."

Cat tracks (or ink spots, paw prints, etc) being often found in homozygous tobiano horses, I'm just trying to figure out why would they advertise as "homozygous for the cat track gene" and not just homozygous for tobiano, as most horse people would know that to be not so rare? Unless there is some new information about these spots that is not widely known yet? Or they are just hoping to draw the attention of uninformed horse people?

And just for fun, what other color/patterns do you see there?

I think they're trying to make it sound like cool, rare color. It's just tobiano.

I see tobiano and splash.

What verona said. Add in that they might really be clueless too and spouting misinformation that they have been told.

Paw prints are not limited to homozygous horses as some heterozygous tobianos have them as well.

He's a black tobiano with splash and sabino.
