What's the craziest way.......
I want to know what the craziest way you lost and found your missing pet!
Ok so i hade a Ginea pig, who was tottaly syco!!!
I also have a Pop belly pig.
One day i decided to let Bacon(pig) and Marshmello(ginea pig) to play together, cuz they like loved eachother.
I let them play for about 1hour everyday. I went to get Marshmello, and she is not there. So i look around and i pick up Bacon. And there i see marshmello under Bacon's butt. Thank God she did not get squished!!!
I don't know if this qualifies as crazy but one night, I had the patio door open on my apartment. The screen door was still closed and I had a second floor balcony. Somehow during the night, my cat opened the screen door and disappeared. Strange thing is that my other cat didn't go outside. Anyway, Misha was missing all summer. I lost him on May 11 and had lost hope of ever finding him again. I had posted posters and went to the animal shelters at least every week and put an ad on the local cable network. I had had so many calls that turned out to be nothing that I didn't even get my hopes up when the phone rang. On August the 6th, I was getting ready for work when I got a call on my cell phone from a lady who said "I think I have your cat". That is how they always started until I asked what he looked like. She said "He is solid gray and he had a blue collar with a tag with your number on it." I was ecstatic. I went to her house in my uniform and her kids were playing with him in the back yard. I saw him and called his name and he came running. Somehow, he had crossed one of the busiest streets in town without being run over. He had gotten one of his front legs through the collar and it had worn a big hole in his armpit. He still has a huge scar from it. Now I make sure that all my doors and windows are secure where he can't open them.
wow thats amazing, one of my cats crossed a busy road and he got hit, but he only had to get a leg decapitated. He is still alive tho!
"Get a leg decapitated"
Hehe. Amputated. =P
My turtle used to always get loose (No idea how, I was like 8) and so we painted a bright orange line on his shell so we could find him. He managed to get out of the house, down the front stairs, and down to the end of the block until someone found him.
When I got a goat when i was younger it was the second day after I had purchased her... she had just been weaned (black nubian with floppy white ears). Anyways she managed to slip from me and being totally freaked out she took off running, across the road, and continued on to the plowed field. I took off running after her and my neighbor was out with his 4 wheeler, so I jumped on with with him and before we caught up to her she crossed the drainage ditch and kept running. By now Im totally covered in mud and upset so I keep on after the goat. She ran into a grove of trees (a farm about 4 miles from my dads) I looked around the grove and nothing. So I went up to the farm house and asked them if they had seen anything and they had not. At this point im tired, dirty, and upset and I asked them if they would call my dad to have him pick me up (he had no idea that I had even left the farm).... so that night I went to bed feeling horrible... no goat that I had just paid $90 for, I knew that she was out in the "wild" with no food or water, and I just was blaming myself for allowing her to take off.
The next morning (a Sunday) we got a call from the neighbors (the farm that I ended up at). They had caught the goat... they found her in the round bale feeder that they use for their cattle. They said that normally they wouldnt have noticed anything but the cattle were acting scared to go over to eat, here is was my goat.
Needless to say that never happened again and we went on to win Grand champion showmanship and champion overall Doe at my county, and reserve champion at the MN State Fair. She also produced some nice babies for me... but Ill never forget that spring day...lol
aww what good stories!
In 4-H when I was young we were taking sheep out to sheer I think it was (long time ago...it was my first year in the club so I was still in grade school). I was getting one out and no one would give me a collar for it. So, I asked one of the leaders and he's like "Just use your hands". So I did the one hand behind the ears and other under the chin and started on my way. Well, the sheep freaked out and ran a good mile down the road before about 10 kids were able to corral it.
Another time when I wasn't there a ram got out and was loose for several weeks. They caught it, he got out again on his own and wasn't able to be caught for a long time. This happened 2 or 3 times. Since he kept getting out no matter what they did they ended up euthanizing him.
Rustic- They had some lamb chops! :)
Xmas eve a year ago my mom and I had just got done doing something in the back yard. And after a couple hours, I went to feed Sexy my male pot belly, and his baby Piglet. They were both gone, I had left the side gate open  We spent hours running around the street that is just one street and half a street off of a highway. I took my bike across the highway and went down the trail thats across from it, no pigs. Go back home still no pigs! We have food and rattling it in their dish... Still nothing. Its cold and late so we give up. Then we hear boom boom boom someone is coming up the stairs we open the door and here is a lady holding piglet. "Is this your pig?"
So we leave him in the bathroom and follow her to a ladies house were sexy had pinned a dog in his house and the dog was barking and wouldnt come out of the house. Sexy is just looking at the dog like "come on! I'll take you on!" The ladies family was there for the holidays, other people were watching! Embarissed I got the food shook it and here he comes running and snorting, followes me home. Everyone kept calling Sexy the mama. Its so nice when your the talk of a small street
But Sexy had taken Piglet to the one lady who brought piglet to her house and got in their garbage cause they had tons of old apples in it.
Later we sold piglet once he was house trained, but a couple days after we sold him I saw him listed on CL I hope he found a good home...
This is Sexy my #1 stud
Let see, I had a tarantula that i wanted to get pictures of. So, I popped open the top of its container, got my camera ready and lifted its hide. I had maybe 2 seconds to react before the little snot took off, and ran into a hole I had in my wall...ARGH! 3 days went by and I hadn't bothered to even look for it, I mean come on, it ran into a hole in my wall! The lil bugger is never going to be found. Well, 3 days after he ran out I was cleaning up my bathroom and noticed a tubeweb in the corner by my toiletpaper holder. Lo and behold, the lil snot had set up camp in my bath room!
I also lost a little 1/4" spiderling. Now you try finding something the size of a speck in your room! Hehe 2 days after being lost, I found him in another spiders cage while i was cleaning it out! Hows that for luck?
