Tracing horses in england
Does anybody know any good websites where I can trace my old horses? I really miss my old ones. I've been trying to trace them for a long time now, nobody seems to have any information on them.

This is Sam, he's a 16.2hh bay thoroughbred x gelding. He would be about 13 years old now, I am based in England so hopefully he will still be in this country. I sold him June 2008 to a lovely young woman. Would love any information on him.

Also, this is Jenny. A 15.2hh black and white cob. She would be about 16/17ish now. I had her on loan from December 2007 to April 2007. Her owner took her back to sell her (even though we were promised first refusal).

I just want any information on these two, please!

Beautiful horses x

Would you not be able to enquire with whichever organisation the horses were registered with (who their passports were with) as to the current owner?

Sorry I can't help you more but keep us posted on your progress. :-)

traceing horses.
hiya have you tryed back tracking your horses via the new owners.
by the way my name is michael and i did it that way.
my partner vanessa passed on and she sold her pony and it was sold on 3 times.
3 years passed and i did a trace and got some leads and visited a few barns on the last one i found tammy.
she had recoverd from a heaverley fractured shoulder and she was doing fine.
she was with a loveing fammaly claire loran and sophy.
we met and there was so much to talk about.
the moral of the story is thay gifted tammy back and i paired her up with my gilding tricky.
sadley tammy passed on at the age of 34 years old tricky is the same as me we have lost both of our girls.
i have skimed the story there is to much to tell.

If you had their passports at any time as a registered owner you might be able to race them through whoever controlled that particular one - though I'm not sure if they would give you information or not they might contact the current owner on your behalf if you got hold of someone helpful
Other than that advertise in all the horsey mags in the UK with the same info you've posted here but be careful about how you give out your own personal info - maybe set up an email account just for replies

I don't know who they were sold onto as I shared Sam and only had Jenny on loan, I don't know the passport information either as I was 12 years old at the time of loaning/sharing them. Its just proving to be so impossible to trace them :/

I would post in places like local newspapers. If you have old pictures, scan them in and post in places like horse&hound and your horse forums which are UK based.

Can you not trace them through the people you used to loan them from?

Sometimes doing random searches for the breed, colour, age, name and area they were bought from can bring good results. A lot of people want to find out more info about their horse!

Good luck
