Went to an open barrel race in San Angelo last weekend and finally got down to 21 seconds... I know there's a lot of obvious things I need to work on but any suggestions or tips or advice?
Sorry it's off facebook by the way, the video was on my moms phone and I couldn't save it to my computer so she put it on facebook..
The obvious mistake is your coming off the second barrel way to wide which is costing you time. Do some slow work for a bit and work on going straight at third barrel after coming off the second, once your leg gets past the second barrel pick your horse up and move him so he's pointed right at the third until you reach where you get into your pocket. Do the same thing coming off the third, make sure your coming off straight and not getting out so wide. Your first barrel wasn't bad, and I can't see much so far away. Those are just common mistakes alot of people make, just tidy up your pattern and you'll probably shave off a few seconds just by doing that.

It's hard to see details since the video is kind of blurry, but agree with barrelracer23.
From barrel to barrel, you should be making perfectly straight lines. No arcs. It's science = the fastest path between two points is a straight line.
I would give yourself a little bit MORE room on your pocket, when you come into the barrel turn. It looks like you might be coming in kind of tight, and thus having to leave the barrel wide.
Go back to trotting and slow loping the pattern so that you can practice getting it right.
