More updates
Well as I had posted earlier last week, I'm going in for surgery again on the 9th of April. The only thing now is that the whole surgery has now taken a twist

My surgeon set me up to meet with a personal family friend of his, a young gal 2 years older than me and in first year medical school. As it turns out he set us up to meet for lunch as she went thru the exact same thing with her wrist as me. Fantastic girl.
Well we have now become friends and have met a few times over lunch. Going to remain friends as well. He said he only sees a few rare cases like this one every other year so it's neat to see the 2 of us meet and become friends.
Anyways, as it turns out I have gotten permission to request her support when I go in the operating room. In other words she will be coming in with me when I go to be put under AND is going to stay to watch the procedure. The neat thing about that is not only am I getting that mental support but I get some wicked photos of my arm during the procedure itself

Finding out in the morning what is going to happen with the hip issue. I think there are going to be some BIG changes as far as horses go but I won't say much about it yet as I dont officially know anything.

As far as Cobalt is concerned I am actually going to be moving him to a new barn just 8km down from my house. The reason being because of what I am expecting to hear from the surgeon tomorrow, again will post more once I get official words. All this will be happening this month.

Wish me luck. I'll be back with more news tomorrow evening.

Kelly, I am keeping you in my prayers. Ortho problems are no fun. I am so sorry that you are having to go through that and I am sorry that I didn't post on the other thread (somehow completely missed it {:( until I saw this). You know that we are all here for you with shoulders to cry on, cookies, comfort chocolate, and a box of tissue. For what it is worth, in my experience, doctor's don't really know everything and they can't ever really predict how someone will recover from a procedure. Most of the time, they give the worst possible outcome to keep from getting your hopes up. There is no doubt in my mind that you will come out of this whole thing fine because you really strike me a fighter who just doesn't give up. Good luck and I will definitely be looking for more updates.

On a lighter note, you could always give Cobalt to me. ;) I would even let you come visit.

Kelly, we are all praying for you and Cobalt. I told some of the girls at my barn what is going on, and they have started a prayer chain for you both as well. Stay strong, and even though it doesn't seem like it right now, always remember that God never ever gives you more than you can handle. You are an amazing human being with an amazing horse, and I truly believe this story is just beginning. Sending hugs and nickers from Central Pennsylvania and all of us at Centre Stables!

That is really cool you get to have that girl there for support. She must be full of info that you need! So it's cool you can ask her whatever you need to and she can give you tips and pointers and whatnot. Very valuable to have.

Good luck! You are in my thoughts

Kelly, you are in my prayers and thoughts. My phone rang while I was in the chiro's with acupuncture needles in my back and without thinking I grabbed for it, knowing it might be you calling... it was my dad instead, but... obviously you are in my thoughts today!!
(I have bruises to show you if you'd like! :P )

I really do hope everything goes well for you, and you know you're more than welcome to call/pm/text/whatever if you need someone to talk to - whether it be fantastic news or not so great news.

Knowing you though, you'll make the absolute best of your situation.

I need to buy you a M. Night Shyamalan t-shirt or something.

"there's always a twist!!" (of course pronounced "tweest!")

Kelly glad to hear that you made a new friend thru this! See, you always make the best of things!

I hope all goes well and I hope that you have good news to share with us. :D

A duplicate update but an update noneless...

Yep, you read it right. Saw the orthopod today. He read the MRA, going to consult with 2 other surgeons (co-workers of his)but we are going ahead with a 3rd PAO.

He said the results tell him he over rotated my hip when he reconstructed it last summer. He is going back in to redo it. I am going in next week to see him again to confirm his meetings with the surgeons. He also said it's the first time he's gone thru this issue. I'm the first patient he's had to have gone for THREE osteotomies. He asked me and made sure I was going to be ok going thru this big surgery again. So those 5 screws I just had removed...are going back in again, lol

I am trying to move my wrist surgery sooner(probably to this month) so I have a couple weeks to recover from that before going back to the O.R. for the hip.

Thanks for all the support everyone. For facebook users, I have just found 2 really good hip support groups there. Just pm me.

Cheers everyone
