Please critique my o/f equitation
Yes, I do have a highly qualified trainer with whom I take regular lessons. Critique as much as you'd like; I am very interested to read your input! Thank you!
Sorry if the pictures don't really picture my equitation very well, but if you'd at least try it would be much appreciated. Oh, and my clear rain slicker makes my back look much more roached than it actually is, but hey, no one wants their nice jacket rained on, right? Thanks again.
I think you could dig your heels a lil' deeper.
In the 3rd pic (i don't know if its the jacket but...) it looks like you are hunched.
Overall you look like a very tallented rider:)
no critique from me other than the heels thing.
But your horse is GORGEOUS! *drools* :)
Way to represent the eventers!
Yes, my clear rain slicker makes my back look much more roached than it actually is, but hey, no one wants their nice jacket rained on, right? It rained nonstop at that show and that weekend set a new record for rainfall. Fun, fun, fun. But thank you sooooooooo much! I will definitely consider my heels, thanks again.
You pretty much just made my day. Thanks a ton! And yeah -- GO EVENTERS! :D
I have to say I like the solid center of gravity and LOVE the automatic release. Very nicely done! Your horse has nice form, as do you, and your fold matches the size of the fence in nearly every pic. I'd possibly consider bringing your stirrups up a hole and relaxing your lower leg a little more to let your body ride a little closer to the saddle and your heels will automatically sink down more as you do this. This will also help keep you from pitching a hare forward/jumping ahead just a hare that i see in one or two pics.
Overall nicely done, with a consistent soft, effective ride! *cheers!*
You are a very lovely rider with a lovely horse!
You are nicely centered over your horse with a very nice release; I might recommend that you roll your shoulders back a bit so you don't get that hunched back look. (Have you read my star analogy on other threads?) You're looking forward to your next fence, it looks like you miiight be dropping a shoulder in the last picture - rolling your shoulders to create a flat (but not hollow!) back will help that. (Of course you want to get off the inside shoulder of whatever lead you want, but dropping a shoulder can inhibit that.)
In the pictures with the rain slicker (before I realized it was just your jacket I was a little shocked haha!) your lower leg has crept the tiniest bit forward... it hasn't affected the rest of your body, which is great, but in my opinion (you may disagree) your irons could come up a hole. They look like the correct length in other photos.
Okay, I'm sure I've blabbed enough!!
You look like you have a great base of support. =)
You look great. I love that last picture. I wish we had scenery like that here.
