New pics and we finally got our new addition...
Ok a little history, back 3 1/2 years ago we had to sell our horses cause we were moving back to cali from missouri, at the time we had Ben my belgian who i recently got back and then we had my moms arab mare and her filly abbey. I sold my boy to amish and mom sold her arab sophie and the colt to some so called friends, well we were moving back here to mo after only a year and a half and mom was able to buy the filly back but they didnt want to sell sophie, but she finally talked them into it. We have know for about a month she was comming home just didnt know when, her colt abbey in now 4 years old and currently at a friends gettin bread, but we went to get sophie yesterday. Now she was bread again and shes due in august some time. I was really worried about putting her out with the drafts but ive never seen fancy kick at another horse so she was of very little concern, it was ben i was worried about, thinking he might kick her bellie. But all in all he never kicked at her once they ran all over and that kind of thing but they are doing good. I think in some way they might remember eachother, afterall he looked up to her before kinda like she was his mom, so i think they will be ok. Oh we also took both my drafts for a walk yesterday, it was the first time they have left the property lol and they did great, so enough talk here are pics, hope you all enjoy.
They look really nice :D
your making me want my boy even more! There all so gorgeous and that filly of yours is going to be one big girl! So jealous. My boy is an all black percheron gelding. 18 hands! How big are your guys?
I love your clyde filly! I'm glad to hear that you got back all of your horses, not very often that it would work out so good.
My belgian ive measured at 17.2 and im only estimating my clyde to be about 16.2, if the rumor is true, that you measure from the middle of the knee to where the coronary band is that that is how tall they will get then she will be about 19 hh, i guess only time will tell, i cant wait to see pics of your percheron. I love all drafts lol
Gorgeous photos! Sure do love your clyde :)
All your horses are just beautiful. :)
That is just too cool. I am so glad that you managed to get your horsey family back together again. I cannot for the life of me remember what the filly's name is but she is just gorgeous and it will not be long at all before she outgrows Ben. Congrats on the beautiful family.
ETA: I think the old way my granddad used to tell a colts future height is to measure from the point of the elbow to the point of the fetlock and then double it to get their final height. Not sure how accurate that is though.
Wow, they're all beautiful!
Exactly how tall are the two drafts?
