Potential Buy..sort of

i've been looking for my first horse for awhile and i came across this mare the other day Bay Thoroughbred Free to Good Home (the pictures are horrible.. i know) i emailed the owner and asked her a lot about her and it sounds like she's a really, really sweet mare. i'm going to schedule a time to go try her out this weekend, but i wanted to see what everyone said about her. i asked for some confo pictures and videos, but she said this was the best that she could do for now.

i know she's not the prettiest mare, but there's just something about her that i love. she looks like a total lovebug.

this was the only jumping picture she had of her, and she said it was pretty bad for her, but i thought i'd post it anyway...

She doesn't look too bad, especially for a free horse. If you meet all of the buyers requirements and you like her when you try her out, I would say get a very thorough vet check then go for it. You know what they say, no free horse is ever really free. Nothing really jumps out at me about her confo except her really thick throat latch (IDK if that could be due to the cribbing). If her only vice is cribbing, that can be controlled and if she rides nice and has good ground manners, it may not be a bad deal. Let us know how it goes when you try her out. That white spot on her side is just adorable.

you said you were looking for your first horse but the add says you must:
"Have prior horse ownership experience or many years of horse knowledge"

just a thought... also what is that white spot?

it may be my first horse, but i've had many years of experience riding, training, etc. i let the owner know this, and she was perfectly fine with it.

and i assume the white spot is just a huge bird catcher spot. but i agree smrobs.. it's adorable! i love it haha

thats cool, just wanted to make sure that was cleared up :)

i thought the white spot was cute too but i wasn't sure if it was a bloop in the picture or on her :)

I just have to say I love that white spot! That is so neat and unique....if its actually on her coat and not something else haha. It almost looks like someone spilled bleach on her.

Nothing jumps out at me either... Get a vet check and try her out, and if you like her, go for it.

Hope it works out for you!

there is a bit of a omen that goes with anything free' as was said earlier nothing for free is ever really free, you should always pay something for it even a dollar. it's just maybe an old wifes tale but i have be seen it come true a few times so best be on the safe side i think. good luck looks like your onto a winner
