Good 'lesson' books?
I'm trying to learn as much as I can about horses, only thing is I feel like I'm stuck right now. My coach is unavailable atm, so I'm trying to learn by watching videos, and reading ALOT.
I was just wondering though, does anyone know any good books/videos to learn from? Just any english riding skills in general really. From basics to advanced, doesn't matter at this point because I don't know how many I'll be able to find lol.
.. I think I wrote this kind of .. weird. Excuse me if I confuse you lol, I'm still asleep.
Ohh, there are so many!! :-)
- Centered Riding by Sally Swift
- Enlightened Equitation by Heather Moffett
- Principles of Riding (an official publication by the German Federation)
- Horses are made to be Horses by Franz Mairinger
Those are four of my favourites, and all are available on Amazon so they shouldn't be too hard to find, except maybe the last one :-)
Thanks I will definitely check those out! Thanks :-)
the author's name is Geoff teal...i forgot the name of the book..sorry.
The Handbook of Riding Essentials by Froncois Lemaire de Ruffieu
Really good! it is the how,why and when to use the seat ,legs and the hands and it also has some really good exercises for both basic and advanced riders....... it also has really good pictures :P
I havent read too much yet, as my only source is the library and they have little selection. The ones I do really like are:
I've taken several clinics with Francois! He is an incredible trainer and rider. His book is pretty good. For english riding my personal favorite is Hunter Seat Equitation by George Morris (or anything by George Morris). He's pretty much THE guy when it comes to teaching hunters and he's the coach for the US team. I'd say he knows his stuff!
