what exercise do you do to keep fit and supple?
Hello, I was just wondering what everyone here does (other than riding horses of course) to keep fit and supple. I only get to ride once a week so am looking for other ways to get fit and loose weight. I hate jogging so that is just not an option. I walk everyday and sometimes ride my bike and do small amounts of yoga a few times a week. What do you all think works well.

I try to ride my bike atleast 3 times a week along with riding almost everyday. Occasionally I go jogging but I really hate it. And I walk or take the stairs whenever possible.

When I don't have a broken leg... I walk just about everywhere... I'm a uni student, so I walk a lot around campus, and I have about a 10min walk from the busstop to my paddock. And then I have another 10min walk from the bus stop to my house to... and finally I do swiss ball exercises about three times a week.

I only ride once a week, too! I try to get to the weight room at my school 3 times a week and I run 2 miles in about 18 minutes, do crunches, and then lift weights.

Lifting weights really helps you lose weight while helping you tone. You actually burn more calories lifting for an hour than you would running for the same amount of time, and it boosts your metabolism for 36 hours. Just be sure to give yourself a day to rest between weight lifting sessions so your muscles can heal themselves.

Ride, horse work, run/jog, yoga, other type of exercises (squats, lunges, crunches, arm work).
