Boots for Barefoot Draft Horse for Trail Riding
I'm wanting to start trail riding my 17.1h Drum horse, and I don't want to use shoes on him. I have seen that there are boots that can be used for natural barefoot horses, but not sure if anyone has used something like this in the Draft horse area. Would love some feedback so that I can get out there and enjoy more things with my draft. :-)

Our Belgian has been barefoot for years with no need for boots; our terrain is rocky and sandy if that helps any!

Well I've only within the past few months purchased my draft horse, and I'm working on strengthening his feet. As of now, they are very soft and sensitive. Therefore, the need for some protection for his feet, and I have not found a company that makes them in draft size.

There actually are some out there. They are mostly used in the carriage industry for horses that work on paved roads. Pick up a copy of the DHJ and brows through the ads. Meader Supply and Shipshewanna Harness should have them. I know Davies makes a draft boot.

I tried to have my draft horse go bare footed and the shoe said he is to flat foot so shoes it is I would ask your shoer if he can go bare footed
