Jumping photos!!

Just thought it would be fun to start a post about catching your jumping in action! Has anyone else found it VERY difficult to get the perfect shot of you and your horse going over a jump?! You know, the exact moment when she tucks her legs up and she's just taking off, and you're leaning forward and it just looks so cool?! :D

Whenever my friends and I try, we always get the "downward" part of the jump which doesn't look quite as impressive, or way too early before the horse has even had a chance to take off at all...how DO people get those good jump shots?!

I had to resort to taking a screen shot on my computer of a video I had paused in the exact spot and cropping the screen shot, which obviously doesn't give you the best quality!! But here it is, in all its glory anyway! ;-) Share yours!!

Yep, it is difficult to get that perfect photo. Here are some of the bad ones that Denny and I went through to find the good one.

And then we got a couple good ones...........Well, good for us anyway.

Hi, it is very difficult indeed :) Normally i take a video and then upload into movie maker as u can pause it frame by frame, then i 'take picture from preview' i wud upload a pic but dunno how lol

How do you upload into movie maker?? I wanted to do that, but my digital camera automatically uploads into Quick Time, which is not supported by Movie Maker so it won't upload into there :-(

smrobs, great pics!! I really like the last one, you just look like you're floating, so cool!! :-)

Another new jumper - yay!! :-) Sandie's only been jumping going on 2 months now...isn't it fun to watch them learn and jump higher?!

Most cameras have a action shutter mode that takes multiple frames in a second. I get my mum to use that mode when photographing me riding :)

I have plenty of jumping pics in my thread for Kai... http://www.horseforum.com/horse-pict...d-22271/page6/
:D

Yeah mine has one of those action things too, but wouldn't you know it, no matter how many times we tried, it kept taking the shots at "off" times!!! I couldn't believe it, it STILL wasn't fast enough (maybe we weren't jumping high enough or something lol)

It sure is! Cisco's been jumping since about January. I'm just learning as well, so we're learning together :-) You and Sandie look EXCELLENT!!

That's so cool -- same here! I'm also just learning - in my first post, that was the first time I have EVER jumped that high! It was scary, but FUN!! :-) You and Cisco look great, I can't tell you're a beginner jumper from the photo, that's for sure!
