Llama, llama, llama! *pic heavy*
Just thought I would share some pics of my babies of the camelid family. :)
First off is my pride and joy, sweet sixteen surprise. She was born on my 16th bday a year and a half ago, and she's one of my best friends. :) she's also this years show girl. I'm expecting her to do well.
And this is HSF After The Twister. She was born not long after the Moore tornado, like, a few hours after. She's only 3 months old right now. 1st pic is the day she was born.
Anyway, just thought I'd share some pics. I think I shared more than I meant though. :-D
They are adorable! Thank you for sharing. I bet you have so much fun with them.
Too cute! Their "buckteeth" always make me chuckle.
Do you show them in 4H?
So cute and fluffy! I want one!:D
Yes, we do have fun!
No, we run with the big boys! Lol. Betcha didn't know they have llama shows and a registry just like they do horses, did you? You should look some up on YouTube. They have driving shows and halter shows and pack shows and obstacle courses and costume contest, etc.
Thanks! They are great animals to have. They are very smart and personable animals. And Rey don't eat anything! I feed mine 1 cup of feed each during the winter. They don't get any during the summer, just pasture.
And did you know they have mini llamas? I have one. But I'm really more into tall and bigboned.
Just looked up the llama shows on youtube. You have no idea how impressed I am right now xD
Your two are gorgeous!
AWHH>> soo cute.. BUT I MUST SAY. I want to see a picture of the mini one.. NOW.. preferbly..
I LOVE LLAMAS! I go to the Shepherd's Harvest festival each year to overload myself on wool to spin up. All the shaved llamas look hilarious. Last year there was one llama that stood out - while most llamas are timid and make little tiny peeps to each other, this one was strutting about, chewing his hay loudly, and bleating to anyone who would listen. He was the best llama. I wanted to get his fur but it was all sold out :c
Ok pics of the mini, lol. I don't have very many good ones of her and really none that show her size compared to the standards. Technically she's like 3/4 of an inch to tall to be registered as a mini, lol.
Ill try to get a video when I show sweetie and post it for y'all.
Shoebox, I'd sell you my llama wool. I don't do anything with it and some of my llamas have really nice wool. I don't have any this year but next year I should have some white (twisters) and some red (corrida, the minis) suri wool and also whatever it is when my female has her baby this fall.
Thanks y'all! So many people just don't understand what great animals llamas are. They are extremely easy to take care of, need about a 1/2 acre or less per llama, depending on how green your pasture is, and when handled right friendly and loving. And they poop in a dung pile so it's way to collect and use as fertilizer. And it's the best fertilizer you can get for your garden. I love my llamas so much.
