What Is THIS? (German Martingale?)
So, I bought this used online. The title was "German Martingale." The photo only showed the leather section with the rings. Well, it has arrived and I don't think it's a German Martingale. There were no reins included.
WHAT IS THIS??
Looks like it.... looks like a....
It looks like something you would put on a horse being driven by a cart... haha (as you can tell I don't know anything about driving).
Well the top piece looks like just a regular training fork with but I haven't a clue why there is an additional strap on the bottom.
Hey, look what I found:
Tory Leather 10-Ring Training Martingale [TL898 10-Ring Training Martingale] - $72.36 : Horse On Course, Your source for the finest equine products.
I don't know what that extra strap is for either, but apparently it does go with it. Well, I don't think I have a use for this martingale (since I have no clue how to use it). I hope somebody out there on eBay will want to bid on it!! :D
Well, it is not a German martingale. Here is a link to what a German martingale is.
It is an Arabian training martingale used to train for those low Arabian western pleasure headsets. At least that is what I have always seen them used for. Here is a similar product advertised on state line's website.
Yea I used to have a german martingale. Mine had the rings on the reins I think tho. I'm confused. Sorry haha.
I guess If I were to try to use it I would run the reins through the bit then connect them to the desired ring on the fork. I don't know what the extra strap is for???
