I want to start cross country with my 14.2 QH/Welsh Pony cross. The thing is that the barn we are at doesn't have a cross country course, hilly trails, or anything similar. I'm wondering if there is another way we can train and prepare for cross country besides moving barns? I think it would be a blast and Patrick LOVES to jump, as well as go fast. I probably wouldn't go to many competitions as I'm the only one at my barn interested in it.
Thanks for positive responses :)

Many, many eventers don't have a XC course at their barn. We haul to nearby courses for actual schooling and break down the XC skills into things we can practice in an arena. I did hill work by riding up and down the driveway and was limited by weather in that work. Find your eventer spirit and be creative!
