Registering a mule?

What are the advantages to registering a mule? Can it be done later or does it have to be done right away?

Some may know that we just had a foal born the other morning from a rescued mare. Now, we are talking whether or not to have him registered. We don't plan on keeping him for the long run. Once he's old enough to be trained and started with riding, we are planning on selling him.

Anyone else that has a mule? Why or why not register him?

Is there a Mule registry ? If you can register him, and you think it will get him a good home when you go to sell him, then go for it.

I think its the American Donkey Registration, ADR. On their website, any mule can be registered, even if lineage is not known.

Since they can't breed, what is the point of registering them?

ADMS, American Donkey & Mule Society. I would asume you would need papers to accumulate points in showing
