Spreading Dried Horse Manure
Has anyone ever used a 3pt fertilize / seed spreader behind their tractor to spread very dry horse manure?

This manure has been composting for about 3 months and is turned regularly. The consistency is anything from dust to very small "chunks".

I have 5 acres that needs some organic material and plenty of horse poop on hand.

All comments/suggestions welcomed.

All you can do is try but more than likely it will clog the chute. Open it as far as it will go. If it's too dry it won't feed down.

I've spread tons by hand. Load up the pick up and put a kid in the back and drive around. Not the best but better than just having it sit until spring. You can also check with a neighbor. You might find someone that has a spreader to rent or can do it for you for a beer or 3. You can put down as much as 2 T per acre but 2-3 fine layers will breakdown and melt into the soil faster.
