Bummer :( OLWS

Got Dawnie tested and just got the results from UC Davis via email:

Coat Color results for DAWN MCCUE(XXXXXXX):

Overo Result:
N/O - One copy of the altered sequence detected. If bred to another N/O horse, there
is a 25% chance of producing a lethal white overo foal. The N/O type has been
detected in Paints (including breeding stock), Pintos, Thoroughbreds, Miniatures,
Quarter Horses and Tennessee Walking Horses.

Not a huge deal, just limits who I can breed too - pretty bummed.

I'm sorry but at least you thought ahead and tested.

Yeah I wouldn't dare take the chance and go into it without knowing. I had a nice stallion picked out due to his similar bloodlines to my gelding(my big baby), but he is positive also. I have 3 other mares I could breed him to, just really wanted her to get bred. No biggie tho... just moving along *sigh*

That IS a bummer, but I also applaud you for testing and finding out for sure, so now you know who you can and cannot breed her to ...

And ... I happen to know of this FABULOUS cremello TB stallion that would LOVE a date with her!
