What do you think i need?
I have a hauling vehicle so i don't need a HUGE truck or van or something. but this is what i do need.
-room for feed, shavings, hay, tack, ect (i don't care if i have to fold seats, or clean it out constantly)
-seats atleast 5
-used (this will be my first vehicle, and i'm paying for it + insurance all by myself, so please be reasonable)
please make a suggestion =)
come on guys and girlies =)
Well I drive a 2008 Subaru Outback. The rear fits EVERYTHING and has a rubber mat that I just shake off every once in a while. I can fit two (50 lbs and 75 lbs) dogs, two kennels, luggage and people in it. The seats fold down, too. So you can fit whatever you want. Plus, you can put stuff on the top.
Also, a western saddle, english saddle, 50 lb bag of treats and five people in it.
Gets about 33 mpg and has get up and go to it. It's only a 4 cyl, but because it has a boxer engine it's a bit more efficient.
Problem with buying a used is that some are going for around $10,000 with many miles on them. The average dying age of a Subaru is between 200,000 and 300,000 miles, they just keep going!
We ended up buying new because it wasn't that much more.
I suggest a Ford Escape. It's a great all around vehicle. Will take you off roading or out to those pastures etc, it is VERY roomie when you put down the seats and because it's not as large as the explorer but yet a good sized SUV, it's not to bad on gas.
Some pics on the web of the cargo space from the web:
I love my 4-Door Toyota Tacoma =)
4 door Jeep Wrangler. I have one, it's great. I can get about 8 big bags of feed in the cargo area, more if I fold the seats down. I can seat 5 ok but it's not the most comfortable fit.
Another advantage, you won't care if you scrape it up! It's a Jeep, they're supposed to be scraped up!
if u want a dependable, good, safe vehicle, get a toyota. they have good mpg, they can go through ALOT, and they dont break easy and if something ever did happen, the dealerships( around here ) are very willing to help u with everything. its a great all around vehicle+ their trucks have lots of horsepower :-P My bro has a Toyota Tundra regular cab, and it has lots of room ( for a regular cab ), goes through anything, has blistine shocks ( the best suspension around), and is built well, ( not like a dodge or ford ) haha :-P and it is a very safe truck, it has traction control etc. + its a great lookin truck. the only problem u would have is they are pretty expensive for new ones.. ( like 30,000) so yeah, but if u want a good vehicle, for sure get a toyota :-)
