Using a Mounting block

I just read this article and thought I would share it.
Easing Mounting Pressures

I just came back from a show were a girl mounting a huge 17+ hand, apologized for using the mounting block. I also have to admit that I used to be ashamed to use the mounting block, too. I thought this article was very good and just goes to show that using a mounting block is not to be ashamed of.

Good to know.

When I got older and less agile, I just bought a shorter horse (LOL)

Seriously, I have no problem using a mounting block whenever possible. It simply cuts down on the strain of mounting for both horse and rider.
