1000-Acre Lake Harney Brush Fire Threatening Homes
 

Friday evening around 4 in our Community Lake Harney Woods we heard a transistor blow. Well this is pretty normal we loose electric every other week. We doooooo live in the boonies after all...... Except this time it caught on fire and hasn't stopped since. We packed our animals, horses, kids and only a few belonging and "got the heck outta harney" :-( Everyone is reporting something different. Our neighbors lost there barn and the fire is GROWING. When we left it was coming towards our house.......

The firefighters were working through the night and are trying to still contain the fires now, including our voluntary community fire department.

I'm so sorry!

I'm so so sorry for that :-(. I keep you in my mind and really hope the fire doesn't destroy your (or everybody else's) house, buildings or anything like that.

Oh! I hope the best for you. What a lot of stress to go through. We live with fire danger every year. Kind of live with that worry every summer. Are you somewhere comfortable while you wait for the fire to be put out? Horses, kids and dogs doing okay?

Will keep you in thoughts and prayers. I hope you're all doing well. :/

Thank you we greatly appreciate it. Our community really banned together to insure all livestock, pets, and families were evacuated and found a place to stay. It happened so suddenly :cry:

Yeah luckily my parents are only an hour away our kids, dog, cats, and ferret are with us. I knocked on her door at 10pm HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! Pets in hand with the hubby holding the kids LOL :shock:. Our horse is being boarded an hour away until we can figure out where we are going to stay...were not sure when the electric will come back on or if there will be a home there. Our youngest child is still feeling the affects of the smoke as it took us a while to pack up :-(. We have always had issues with fires around us but never in our community.

Still getting worse even after a little rain. The firefighters are still the same ones from sunday. But hopefully they will be re leaved today.

Getting worse, not even contained yet. That is too bad. Is there a lot of under brush that can burn. If we have enough rain around here then we do not have so many fires that year but it grows all the under brush so when we do have a dry year it is tinder. Any news on your house? So good you have somewhere to stay with your animals. Hopefully today is the day they will turn everything around for the better.
