what age can a horse free jump?

Hi I'd like to try a little free jumping my two year old horse. I've seen videos of foals jumping. what age is it safe to do that. I'd like to do very small jumps for fun(1ft).

I personally wouldn't do anything other than trot poles and cavaletti until my horse was at least 4. A horses growth plates are not fully formed (meaning their skeleton is not fully formed) until they are around 5, regardless of their breed. Over working immature horses is one of the main reasons so many horses have soundness issues later in life... Look at the racing industry - how many horses retire with soundness issues?? Jumping puts unnatural stress and strain on immature joints and bones.
