Walk/Trot flat work ideas.
Me and chance are FINALLY starting to get along again now that ive finally gained some respect from her.

We are doing A LOT of trot poles to get her to use her hind more , and to get her to pick up her feet. I also need some ideas for that as well.

We went over 1 ft yesterday, but I really dont want to start jumping to much till our flat work is solid again.

So I need some good w.t Flat work ideas. Maybe some web sites? I need to keep her mind working and not get bored.

Also what are some fun things to do on lunge??

I have that book at home I think, though I'll check in the office. I'll scan a few pages and post so you can choose.

Any thing you want to focus on in particular?

Would this book be suitable for a beginner or is it more for an experienced rider? I can ride and stay on alright, but I have no formal training whatsoever and I would certainly like to become a (somewhat) skilled rider. Having more ideas to try and work on is always fun, provided that I can understand what is written!! :-)

Well i cant exacly remember what it was called. And my coach is going to kill be becuase i cant, but i think i can explain it pretty good. We used this for pluto to get him to listen to my comands and get him aware of where to place his feet. This involes alot of leg yeilding, you know what that is?

#1, start off with making a square box with your trot polls. When you are ready lead the horse into the box and bring it to a halt when all four feet are in side. Slowly try to manoeuvre your horse without allowing it to step out of the box to the right so your horse would now be standing like this - rather then this | keep doing this till you are back in the position you started with. If the horse steps out, lead it out of the box and back in.
WOW that took a while to word, ill try and find the sheet she gave me for you, that way it may be easier then my ****ty wording.

2# Lets hope i can word this one better
Make a maze with your trot polls. With only enough room so that your horse can fit between them. Sorta like the crappy paint pic below. Again with leg yeilding and bending move your horse through them, without letting it step out of the polls

That book can be used by anyone.
It has written and pictures. I'm more of a picture person to understand so it has helped.
There's also a longing long lining one that I have too that is just as good. Really tells you how to lunge and everything.
