Sabino paint filly...

I'm curious to know which color pattern she is... she's got the medicine hat, but has the white maximum qualifications otherwise. She has not been registered, as she is a victim of a divorce, and has been left in my care and I do not have the parents' papers. The owners have not replied to my several months worth of calls and notices to pick her up, nor expressed any interest in coming to visit her or move her. I'm at my wits end what to do with her. I do not have the time, money or space for a yearling that is not registered and cannot earn her keep.

I do know that her dam is liver chestnut, AQHA registered, and Impressive bred, HYPP Neg... her sire is King bred... B&W Overo.

What am I looking at price-wise as far as selling her as a grade filly, even with her coloring??

Do you have pictures?
What kind of work has been put into her?

weston I had a similar situation, except it was a "friend" who forgot they had a horse at my place. They never paid a dime for care and this went on for 6 or 7 months. We ended up just selling him for very little money - we just wanted to get rid of the feed bill and all the extras, then they wanted to pitch a fit about it LOL

Anyway, do you know who her sire and dam are? If you do you may be able to get with the stallion owner and they can give you some paperwork to get her registered. If not, I am not sure you will get a whole lot of money for her. If you want me to help you do some homework, I just sit here all night at "work" so I can help you out. Send me a PM. If you can get her registered I might be interested in her. What color is she - can you attach some pics?

I can get some pictures, I'll have to get to it tomorrow at baby's naptime so that I have a little more time to poke around on the page here to get it figured out because I'm new to the forum, and it's dark out at the moment.

She's all white, with a sorrel medicine hat. She has a line of the sabino freckles down her neck to her chest about 3" wide, a 3" wide strip of the freckles on her spine between her withers and hips, then at the base of her tail that extends to her "butt cheeks". She's got 2 blue eyes, she's growing on me. I didn't like her looks at all at first, but then again, she still had the foal "fuzz" and finally shed that off. She's got SUPER long legs, and she's kind of in the awkward stage that yearlings go through where they're growing noticibly almost every day and changing...

She stands tied, leads, bathes, loads in a 2horsem, and I've started to work on longing her. I can pick up her feet, poke my fingers in her nose and ears... she is kinda skittish to the face, my guess is because her nose sunburns. She's got white hooves though...

Pretty sure she's a tovero. I'd like to see some pics definately. Again, do you know who her sire and dam are?

I do not know their registered names, both horses are in the area because the family had limited means of transportation for their horses, so I'm sure the semen was either AI, or the stud came to her. I just don't know who owns the stud, or where to find him. And I'd ask, but they won't answer or return my phone calls.

so here's what i found on liens...

http://asci.uvm.edu/equine/law/lien/ks_lien.htm#toppage

but the only problem is there never was a set cost for her board and feed... the only thing i can do is call around and get an average cost from the boarding facilities in town. I have dumped well into the $500s into her between feed, water, vet care, coggins, wormer, training.

curious to know, what would one charge for imprinting a foal for someone else? I'm not sure what's reasonable... but I do know that I wasn't going to leave her in the pasture and let her get wild so I'd have to chase her again the next time she jumps the fence... so I consider it a reasonable need to handle her, so if I charged them for it that the judge couldn't/wouldn't deny that charge...
