Ok, so I am doing a unregenized event on Sat. and I don't have a black bridle for dressage. Is it ok if I just use my brown one? I am getting a black bridle soon, but don't have enough time to get one for Sat. Acctaully I have one, it's just too big for poor Blue:-(

I'm probably a little late, but at least by Canadian rules the colour or your bridle does not matter until FEI levels, or championships. You are fine with a brown bridle.

in the US it doesn't matter either. Unless you are showing in the upper levels, they really can't penalize you for not having matching tack. you'll be fine!

i remember when I tried my hand at dressage, I did a really low level... I think it was called "chicken little" or something... for the green rider and green horse. Anyway, I used my hunt tack w/ a slightly longer stirrup and they never complained. They did check my bit so there must be a bit rule in dressage....

Your mom used to compete in the dressage world, wouldn't she beable to give you advice in this department?
