My gelding was a fatty when I got him. He has been on a diet and exercise regime since. But he is losing weight in all the wrong places. He lost his top line, his rump and his neck, but his gut is still huge. Is there something I can do to add muscle to these places?
We have been doing a lot of trotting in the ring. Unfortunately I hurt my knee yesterday dismounting. How, I have NO idea. Somehow the toe of my boot got tangled in the stirrup, again don't ask me how, and my knee popped. Now it's all swollen and it hurts. I tried trotting today, and well, yeah it's going to be a few days on that. But thanks for the input
Working a horse properly (not hollow and not bracey and not plowing on the forehand) will build great haunch muscles and topline. Hills will also help, as will slightly raised trotting poles.
