Whats in YOUR vehicle?
I wasn't sure where to put this...in 'cars and trucks', 'farm' or 'horse talk' but I opted for cars and trucks. Mods, feel free to move it if you don't think it fits here.
I want to know what kinds of odd things are in your vehicle, and what you think is absolutely necessary to have in it for every day occasions ;) my curiosity stemmed from this morning when I had to run by the farm after church to feed my filly, and a friend happened to be with me. He saw me start rummaging around grabbing things that I keep in my car (and need) and started laughing hysterically...why I don't know. Those are perfectly normal things to have in my car...to me!
That got me to thinking. What all is in my car?
I ALWAYS keep my horse's two halters and a lead rope in my car in case I get an emergency call and need to catch them or something, flip flops (to change into if I have to go in a store and my boots are muddy...I think its considerate.), a hoof pick, two sets of jumper cables, a flashlight and batteries, a human first aid kit (with vet wrap and gauze in it...haha), a pair of extra jeans/shorts, some extra rope, a t shirt, some sort of lotion or perfume, germ x, and a tarp in my car. You never know when they might be needed! LOL. I've had breakdowns and horse emergencies before...be prepared!
But I've also had all kinds of other odd things in my car that I couldn't really explain. 6" of a horse's matted tail (I called it the "broom tail" but no one else thought it was all that funny...haha), a raccoon skull that I found, a set of hot pink chopsticks, syringes, big buckets.... I hope I'm never pulled over with one of those things in my car o.o people just might start wondering...
So what about you? Whats in your vehicle? ;)
I drive a standard cab pickup so space is limited. I have in there a bag of tools, rain gear, old coat that's still warm, spare ball cap, roll of shop towels, oil, fuel conditioner. If I had a canopy on the back it would probably be stuffed full of things I just "might" need some day.
I have a bad habit of tending to look like I live out of my car, so that's a tough question to answer.
However, in light of having to sell my car soon (I was in an accident and they totaled my car, so I have about $1700 to buy a new one), I actually cleaned my car out completely.
Right now, since I went to the barn the other day, I have my tack trunk (with my saddle pads, bridle, both sets of reins, cinch for my Aussie saddle, girth for my English saddle and my bits in it), grooming box, halter and lead rope, "new" (to me) training sursingle I bought the other day, a tub of Skidmore's leather conditioner, and my 20' jumper cables in my trunk. In my back seat, there's a box with some power steering fluid, Marvel's Miracle stuff (I think that's what it's called...it's to help condition the engine), fuel additive, oil, and the left headlight of my car in it, as well as a sweatshirt and my purse.
When I get my new vehicle, I plan on keeping my tack trunk, halter and lead rope, jumper cables, a change of clothes (including shoes/boots), and my purse in it.

Disabled parking permit, extra set of crutch tips, heavy Carhartt and a light jacket, bottled water and crunchy granola bars, halter, work gloves (in 2 sizes), baggie of sweet feed (for catching errant horses of the neighbors), sunscreen and whatever junk the kids left in the backseat.
I pretty much have the same stuff in all 3 vehicles I drive except they only give me 1 disabled placard so I have to move it along with my jacket(s) to whatever vehicle I'll be in. My truck has the more "horsey" stuff in it but since I can't get in my truck unless someone shoves my butt up into the seat, I'm not driving it unless I absolutely have to.
I can't really tell anymore, there's just too much mud and hay.

My husband drives the truck I use to haul the trailer, I drive a car for day to day driving. Only extra thing I have in my car is an umbrella, and a toy horse my granddaughter plays with in her carseat, that's it! I won't comment on the truck as my hubby has too much stuff in there, like tools.
In my truck I keep my horses' Coggins, umbrella, sunglasses, change, a towel, jumper cables, and a jump box (so I don't have to rely on another car to get a jump if needed).
In my car I keep flip flops, socks, sunglasses, water, a halter and lead, breeches, rain x, jumper cables, granola bars, and barn clothes for work.

I don't have a ton of space in my truck but I stuff things behind the seats and in the glove box/console as much as I can.
Glove box has gloves (duh, lol), deoderant/perfume, an ice scraper, and a book with all insurance/titles/registration/etc for the truck and trailers it pulls.
Console has a tiedown keeper, a couple conchos, a little tin of coffee (Don't judge lol), a headband, an emergency makeup bag, bute/aspirpaste, and a couple rubberbands and hair ties.
Behind the seats I typically have a couple sweatshirts and coats, a pair of tennis shoes or flip flops, an extra halter, hair spray, window cleaner, a small tin of grain/treats, a water bottle, a drop down hitch, a bag with extra phone/ipod chargers and clothes plus shampoo/conditioner/soap, a lightweight stable blanket, a sleazy hood, a couple towels, and a hoof pick.
On top of this I almost always seem to have a water bucket in the bed, god knows why, but I guess it's there if I need it lol.
I keep most of that stuff in case I take off to stay somewhere or need to go catch a horse, or in case of emergency.
I pretty much live out of my truck, but about twice a year I do clean it out completely and I've found some interesting things...There's not really garbage so much as random items.
Certain things that are always in my truck include: a toy zebra, comic books, my riding helmet, an empty bucket, some kind of emergency food, LOTS of tapes, my EMS gear and motor oil.
Currently, those items are accompanied by: a piece of lace I found at the dump free store, a Rolling Stones record, building proposals, meeting minutes, horse show entry forms (from July!), a half-used tube of dewormer, a stuffed pony, a plate, a dressage whip, two pairs of extra shoes, a bunch of eagle feathers, and a few other things...Yep. Time for fall cleaning!
Depends on the day of the week.... Today I think it has a spare sweatshirt, a blanket, baseball gear, 2 lawn chairs, half a diet coke, some mcdonalds wrappers.... can of febreeze....
