What is my horse worth?

I have a Quarter Horse who's grand daddy is Peppy San Badger. I'm just trying to get a rough estimate of what he is worth. He is 15.3 hh, a beautiful Bay Roan and has incredible conformation. He is a 4 year old, He is broke to ride, just needs more training in whatever disipline he is going to go into. He will walk, trot, canter and is a great mover. He is a bit on the lazy side but will go if asked. His biggest downfall is the lasiness.

Any thoughts on what he is worth? I really want to trade him for a well trained horse for my sister. Doesn't have to be registered or anything special, just someone who has taught kids to ride before. Is that a possibility or would I have to come up with money? I don't know much about quarter horse lines so just be as honest as you can and tell me what the big guy is worth http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...lies/smile.gif

Be helpful if you had pictures. Conformation is very important. If he's got bad conformation he's not going to be worth much. Good = worth more.

I will take pictures tomorrow :)

Just tell me, very honestly what you think. The video is uploading right now so I will go ahead and add that in a minute!

do you have the link to the video? I think that will be most helpful to determine the price.

His conformation isn't really that good from what I see. The very last picture shows a horse that's just put together odd the neck/barrel/hind quarters don't tie in very well. You might be able to trade for another horse and pay money. But I wouldn't think he'd be worth much over $1000 if that. He's got a beautiful color and I like his head.

The thing is, a horse is really worth however much someone is willing to pay for them.

The pics are difficult to see. Could you post confo shots here?

CuriousGeorge 05-29-2009 09:26 PM

Do you mean they are hard to see on photobucket so I should post them here or they are bad pictures and I need to take new ones?

I thought they looked fine on Photobucket but I've got a pretty big screen.
