Secretariat was one of the last triple crown winners, just before our last one affirmed. He was thought to be one of the greatest race horses to grace american soil and to this day holds a record of 25 lengths that had never been done before or since. As he turned the poles, it seemed instead of growing tired like the other horses he seemed to add on momentum and ground, gaining ground with each quarter pole he passed. It was said that the horse was bionic. Actually he had a heart that was twice the size as a normal one and was able to get more oxygen to his lungs and circulate more blood threw his body because of it, giving him greater stamina then the others on the field.. so without further adue.. here is my tribute to Secretariat.
Secretariat's historical run at the belmont.

I never mind seeing and ancient thread like this one revived.
He was an incredible horse and his oversized heart was, no doubt, what made him so wonderful. Sadly, it was not passed to any of his offspring and few of them were anything special on the track. However, he was so handsome, who would have thrown any of them out of their barns?
I remember those triple crown races. Thanks for bringing tears to my eye, once again, for having had the privilege to see such a magnificent horse. I doubt, with the way racing is done today, if we will have a triple crown winner again.

I used to gallop racehorses not too long after his Belmont win.
