We finally got the chiropractor out and she noticed some sensitivity in her back and something screwy in her neck but otherwise she was pretty good for not ever being adjusted before. But she was concerned about the stiffness she sometimes has in her back leg and her slow hoof growth. So she tested her for lyme and it came back very positive for that and anaplasma(sp?)
We have to call her back still but I was curious about any experiences you guys have had with either of the diseases and what the course of treament is.
I know its hard to detect and difficult to diagnose. The normal course of action is antibiotics. Is that what you plan on doing? Did she do a blood test?
I don't want to post the numerous articles here but there is a lot of information on thehorse.com heres one list The Horse: Infectious Diseases | Lyme Disease
Yes we got a blood test she's doing three and the overnight one she did came back very positve so she called us. I think she wants us to wait for the others to come back postive before we start treament but I'm not sure. My mom just talked to her and the course of treatment is 20 pills two times a day of some sort of antibiotic for 60-90 days.
Thanks for the link!
