Allergic to Cowboy Magic?!

Ever since Sam start scratching and loosing hair on his face, I've stopped using Cowboy Magic (the oil like stuff that makes there mane oh-so shiny) and avoided using shampoo in the area. Now his facial hair is growing back and the sores were he rubbed are healing.

Possible allergy to Cowboy Magic products? I always rinse VERY thoroughly and he has no other problems any were else other than along the crest of his mane and his forehead. I'm quite happy that he's stopped scratching and that his fuzz is growing back again.

Has anyone else had any problems with Cowboy Magic products?

I've personally never used cowboy magic. But another possibility is that maybe it just irritated his skin, but allergy is also a possibility. just thought i would throw that in there.

I don't like Cowboy Magic at all. I use Canter Mane and Tail for hair products but I don't ever put it on the forelock. Solon had a case of itchy tail/butt after using CM on his tail once. I don't know for certain if it was the CM or just itchy in general but I stopped using it and he wasn't scratching as bad.

I had a problem with Kooter and CM, we have to be very careful what we put on him.

I use Ventroline (sp) products, love them!!

Horses can have allergic reactions just like us :)
I would avoid using CM products if your horse reacted badly to it, and start using something else
