Clinton Anderson Clinic
I'm planning on going to the Clinton Anderson Clinic in Oct. when they have it in Ocala, Fl. Has anyone ever been? Did you enjoy it? I'm trying to decide if I want to go for 1 or 3 days, tell me your thoughts on it.I have been waiting all year for this, but I have to order the tickets.
I've really wanted to get to one, but alas, have not made it to one yet...Consider me green with envy; I think you'll learn alot. :D
I went to one about...3 years ago. I learned a lot. He did a lot of promotion for his products and he made those horses WORK so some people didnt like it, but I would go to another one. I just audited.
I really like how he thinks the best training method is wet saddle pads. He was very easy to understand, took questions from the audience, and was overall very friendly and fun.
I went to one last fall.. I loved it. he was super funny and made time fly. I only got to go to the second day and didnt realize it was 2 days. I missed a LOT of info from the first day. Plus he is really nice to look at lol
yes, I agree with you, he is nice to look at, lol. I might go for the 3 days, its only 35.00 the same price as a 1 day ticket, although I'm not planning on taking my horse just going to watch.I cant afford to take the horse and be a spectator its like 1000. thats if your a member which I'm not.
I went to one last fall also, it was really great until the end when the horse he was working with was really acting up and he couldn't make it do anything he wanted it to.
That's when things got sort of ugly and I started disagreeing with some of the methods he was using.
I'd say go ahead and go, it's a good experiance!
My husband and I went in April and learned so much! He is a wonderful trainer and I really respect his methods. I never once got bored watching and listening to him, as I do other well known trainers. He makes learning very easy.
He does kinda poke fun at most of these horse owners who let their horses walk all over them and don't respect them. He makes a statement at the beginning of all of his shows that those one or two women will freak out and send him a nasty email the following day about how mean he was, blah, blah, blah. I don't think he went over the line or even close to it any time during his training sessions. The demo horses being used could have seriously injured or killed their owners, so a little bit of "stick therapy" was necessary. He never even got close to being overly aggressive with the horses either.
You will definitely enjoy his training sessions! Be sure to bring something to write with while he is training so you don't forget anything!
Well I talked to my husband and he said to go for the 3 days, I didnt want to be away from home that long, but I'm only going to be a hour or so away,So me and my daughter is going to go,I know we will have a blast. Thanks for the tip, taking something to write on, I would have never thought of that.So I will wait till about 30 days before the show to get the tickets and a hotel room.
