you can go and just groom them, talk to him walk him around.I do it all the time, but mine is not boarded, they are at my house so it is a little easier for me.

I don't have a lot of time to spend with Dakota but when I do I just talk to him or take him out to graze.

Taking the horse out to graze is wonderful to do! It really builds the relationship and makes spending time with you fun and relaxing.

i guess this is kinda work but wut is yalls input on the parelli games? i heard it REALLY pays off and it REALLY strengthens the bond between u and your horse! i may want to try it...i heard it takes a lot of time and im not sure where i could do it at the barn i ride at-the round pen is always occupied there are other horses in the pasture and always someone in the arena PLUS call me stupid but most ppl at my barn r pretty snooty and dont beleve in this stuff...i no i shouldnt care but...its annoying when u get all these "looks," we have a lot of probs there but that is a whole other story so anyways :) plz tell me wut u think an somewhere good to do all of this, i no u cant really tell cause u cant c the barn but just try your best! thx so much!

Lots of things come to mind.
A nice bath & grooming session
My latest favorite is snack time. I'm trying to put weight on him so I soak some beet pulp, hay cubes and add some rice bran to it and let him delight in the mash while I sit there and read a magazine. He occassionally lift his head out of the bucket to rub some on my clothes. How thoughful!
For a more active quality time. I bring him into the ring, take off his halter, and he follows me around over ground poles, cross rails and other obstacles. I think he thinks I'm a little nuts, but he follows me at his own choice, so I guess he's not too embarrassed by his lunatic mommy.
I love spending time with him even it is soaking a hoof or wrapping a leg. I guess there really is no wasted time spent with a horse.

Sometimes I just go over groom him and then take him in the either the round pen or the arena and just sit with him. Let him do as he wants and wait for him to come to me. Most of the time he stays right by me. I love it, it is very relaxing just to sit there with him.
