Can you critique my riding please? :)
Can you critique my riding please? Also, if you'd like to judge my horse, you can do that as well, I appreciate any advice :)
Thanks everyone! :)
Bumpity bump! :-)
Let me start off by saying I'm not the best at giving critiques. Just a disclaimer :)
When you are doing your flatwork, I would suggest bending at the elbow more. Your elbows are almost locked, resulting in there being no give. If you bend your elbows it will allow you to give more with your horses head and neck.
Your horse is super adorable and looks like is a very willing partner!
Love the leg position on the last stirrup position, you got your toes up, nice! Relax your shoulders and lower back and let your elbows relax at your sides, follow the horse's movement with your new relaxed hip and arm, he will probably relax and reach for some contact. When you got that, enjoy the ride!
I love your leg in the last pic. Overall I think you look very nice but I would agree withthe others that you need more of a bend in the elbow and ou should try to roll your shoulders back and open your chest more. Put more weight in the heel and turn your thumbs up. Jumping I can't tell much from the pic as the angle is off, but it looks like your leg has slid back and your heel has come up just a tad. Think about keeping your heels down over fences and working with no stirrups will help keep tour leg still, which you seem to be working on already from the looks of the last picture. Last thing and I can't really tell from the pic but it looks as though your hands are in your lap over the jump. You might need to hold them a little higher and slide them up his neck to give him more of a release. Like I said I can't really tell but it might allow him to use his neck better and improve his form over the jump as well as yours.
Overall it looks fantastic! And your horse is adorable btw. He has a cute jump and is very handsome (sorry if its a mare, I tried. but either way you are a great pair :)
