Looks a lot like my Dakota, so of course, I love the look of it. Wish I had the extra cash to take it off your hands.... but for someone who CAN buy it ...
what is the gullet width and tree size?

Velvetgrace 06-15-2009 10:59 PM

If I measured correctly the gullet size is 7 inches. I am not sure how to measure the tree size. I have had saddles, but only learned how to measure the seat.

I am definitely interested! Just a few questions though....I have never ridden in a seat that has that high of a back, does that affect the size of the seat in terms of how much room you have to sit? I hope that makes sense.... and I am just curious but how old is the saddle?

Qtswede 06-15-2009 11:39 PM

no, it doesn't affect how you sit or the room in it - can actually make you feel more secure in the seat - mine is similar to that one.
if the gullet is 7", it's probably a full quarter bars? I think.

I would love to see any more pics you may have. Can you tell me what it weighs? I'm near Wichita, Kansas.

Velvetgrace 06-16-2009 12:05 PM

I will take a few more picture with the ruler or tape measure today. It would be hard for me to tell you exactly what the saddle weighs. I will try to put it in a box and take it down to the UPS office to see how much it weighs, which I will need to know for shipping anyways. I had an old roping saddle that weighed about 60 lbs and that sucker was heavy. This saddle will take a little effort to pick and put on the horse, but not as much as the old saddle.

As far as the seat Qtswede is right, it will make you feel more secure in the saddle. When I have ridden in it, I would prefer to be riding in this saddle while riding at a fast lope or going up and down hills.

Standing inline for this saddle. I have one very similar that is 18 in for my husband and I steal it from him all of the time. If you make it to UPS could you see how much it would be to ship to 79606? Please let me know if the others don't want it.
