I need help with striding!
I have a 15.3 hh Thoroughbred that I am learning to jump on. During lesson my instructor set up a line with perfect striding making it easier for me to concentrate on my position and not worry about the strides. Someone moved the jumps recently and I would like to set the line back up but I don't know how far apart the two jumps should be. I trot up to the jump and my horse has one good canter stride before the second jump. Can anyone help me on figuring out the steps or feet?
You should ask your trainer, because she may have used a 12 stride, but she may have set it shorter becauseyou were trotting in.
I'm guessing it was 18 feet since you were trotting in.

A one stride grid combination is 18' between the two fences.
