OMG! I LOVE LIVESTOCK! heres my babies, i raise goatys! And im gunna start rabbits!
Pow, Born October '08 (the 18th hehe) hes a tub of lard hehe.
This is Jasper, my freaking fat Nubian wether. He doesnt jump anymore but he sure does like to eat. hes like 14 months old.
This is Riot, my love. He is going to be 4 months in a few days. We will be using him as a breeding buck.
And heres my bunny!! He name is Rabbie and she loves goat grain carrots, and pretty much anything hehe. Shes around 13 pounds, and over a foot long. She is pure Flemish Giant.
alot of goats lol. i need to take more pics of my animals.
This is Anabell. Born on Christmas eve. Sweet lil ******. I'm showing her in our county fair. she wikk be my last cow to show.
This is Devin. One of our mommas. Me and my older sisters have allways taken our show calves swimming during the summer to cool them off in a fun way. Now you cant get her outta the pond.
I love goats! I am trying to convince my mom to let me get one.
At the moment, all I have is my one cow. Her name is Bella, and I believe that she is quite pleased with her lifestyle. Eat all day, sleep all night. We were going to buy a cow to be a show cow, but then we found her, and I just had to have her as my baby. =]
So, she ain't no money cow or anything special, but I luff her.
Good question. I would assume so. We bought her for $50 bucks from a local auction. The poor thing was about to be slaughtered.
RusticWildFire - Basically, all she does is eat and is loved on by her mommy(me =] ). She has been through a lot and we don't want to stress her. She is very old anyways.
I don't have pictures of our cows on this computer, i will have to get some. I used to have a billy goat i rescued named Billy. He was wild, and had a chain around his neck. I started feeding him carrots, and eventually got the chain off, and he became a nice pet. He had huge horns, but never offered to do anything mean to me.
Hey Crissa! Another fello Okie! which part of the state are you from?

Aww! I only ask because I have a pet steer :P hehe.
This is my boy, Herman. I was quite young at the time (12 in 2000) and could not stand to see my project go off to slaughter. He almost died as a baby..had to be tube fed..and he was (still is) just the sweetest thing you could ever meet...So, now we just enjoy his presence and give him lots of love and attention. lol. I think he is also content with his lifestyle. It's about the same as Bella's!
Uh oh, Rustic... I did that once! Fell in love with my project and FOR THE LIFE OF ME, could not let him go to slaughter... Unfortunately now Louie is going to a friends home as a companion to her horse whose partner died from colic. His best friend, Rosy, got sold so now he's lonely and doesn't get along with Cricket. It's the better thing for him. He'll love it in his new home. Lots of goats, burros and horses =D
I used to show hogs my freshman and sophmore year of highschool. Sadly they all went to slaughter, I didn't own them so there was nothing I could do to stop it. I cried when my first pig went to slaughter, I loved him very much.
Pumbaa getting a bath before his first show, he won Reserve Grand Champion that day, lost to his brother.
My first time delivering piglets. I have pictures of the AI to but not on this computer. I also casturated all of my male hogs myself, which was crazy to me since I had always lived in the city lol.
Adorable
Winning my first showmanship class with Clyde (he had a sister named Bonnie! lol)
Last one, of me and Clyde practising. I sure to miss my hogs :-( They were the smartest animals and had amazing personalities.
this is my Mini Lamancha buck when he was a younging lol. he is almost a year now and I have a female his name is gus and hers clara lol from my favorite movie lonesome dove and I have a boer goat named Lori I will get more pics of them uploaded today I love them so much they are such a joy! I will also dig around and find some of my old show cows I use to show brahman in high school I hope to have another herd one day
Allright!
So the first cow is our milker Lady Luck (Belted/Guernsey)
Second is her calf (our soon-to-be milker), Elsie (1/4 beltie, 1/4 Guernsey, rest Ayrshyre)
Third is Yukon, Jersey steer meat man
Last my nigerian Dwarf goat Apple Biscuit (hehe)
PS these pics were taken in winter thats why everyone is so shaggy! and Elsie is WAY bigger now...couldnt find updated pix. Elsie(5mos) is bigger that Yukon(yr and a 1/2). She was born huge! twice the size she shouldve been with the size of her mom!
Plains Drifter- I love your TBs! I have never particularly liked the breed... all the ones I have seen around here are kinda plain looking and have short straight mains for braiding purposes. Yours are gorgeous!
Fun section of the forum, just discovered it. I just moved my mare to a miniature horse breeding facility, so I'll make sure to post some photos of them. They also breed a certain breed of sheep(no idea what they are called). Those ones are breeding stock.
grr this thread makes me wish i had gotten pictures of my duckies before we took them to the pond!!! lol now all i have is a chicken and my flemish giant rabbit. and the rest are all pets and not livestock so i can't put them up = P
haha excuse the mess! the little picture is of the chicken when we first got her. and then there is the chicken lol she LOVES being inside lol
then my Flemsih Giant Raven she is only 6 months old in the picture but she was 10 pounds and about 2 foot long when stretched out. now she is about 25 pounds and about 4 foot long when stretched out! and she is still growing!!
These aren't actually my personal animals, but they are animals at the ranch were I work. Don't have any pics of the two steers though. They are holstein steers, and I'm not exactly sure what we have them for. And if you can tell me what breed the tan buck is, I'd appreciate it. Unfortunately the white goat, also not sure what she is, but she's very short, got bred by the billy, and I'm again not sure what the owner wants them for. Though he had talked about raising dairy goats. And the sheep is a really cute sheep with no outer ears. The goose is called Sam, and he's a rescue that came in with an already broken and healed wrong wing. Follows you around like a dog. billygoat.jpg peacock.jpg samsam.jpg sheepgoat.jpg
I bought a bum lamb when I was useless and pregnant. She lived in the house for about a month because it was cold. She chased cars and visited my neighbor with my dogs. I don't think she knew she wasn't a dog. Of course when she got old enough...lamb chops.
Nummy. lol
I also have laying hens no pictures though.
I love seeing everyones critters!
Me and my show steer Tonka both asleep before a show! I miss him. But he kept someone full.
