Drying out standing water
Quick question for everyone. I have alot of standing water in my horse shelter from the recent rains and wanted to know if you all could suggest anything that would help soak up the water.

Also any ideas on what I could use on the ground to help raise the current level of the shelter floor?

You might can use fresh sawdust and straw, as well as any old sawdust and straw from your horses stall's. Just place it where the water is and walk on it and let it soak it up.

Do you have concrete or dirt floors? And is the water being blown in from the rain or is it flooding in from somewhere?

One thing that might help depending on what's happening is too dig a large pit in the front and back of your shelter, right outside the doors, and line the bottom with concrete block's, then fill it with gravel. This will keep the front and back of you shelter from turning into a muddy mess and should keep those areas from flooding. We did that to our barn and it work's just fine.
