Well Pumpkinzmybaby22 and I both own horses and keep them in paddocks near eachother. Anyway at first our horses hated each other. Pumppkin would annoy Chinga the whole time and not leave him alone. Chinga didn't like this. Now both horses are leaving each other alone. One nibble and one or both of them walk off. We or I don't think they are ready to be in a paddock together yet.
But here is what I really wanted to ask/say. Once we rode them together started off walking and Pumpkin would follow Chinga happily but then we started trotting and Pumpkin bolted. I think this was because we were trotting towards the gate and that was Pumpkins problem at the time. Now I can get him to canter towards the gate without a problem. So we were disscussing the other day riding together with the two horses. Pumpkin ius alot better in his ridinmg now he can walk, trot, canter and jump in the direction of the gate and only slightly quicken when we jump but all he needs is a "No" and will slow down again
So do you think the horses are ready to ride together?
I think if both of you can control your horses, yes, you should be able to ride together. But keep in mind they do not know each other too well. Keep at least two horse distance between you, whether it's behind each other or next to each other. Since Chinga is the bigger horse, he should probably go in the front if you're riding one behind the other.
I don't see why you can't ride together so long as you're careful. :)
Horses can seriously harm other horses with just one kick, if they don't know each other, please don't push how close you get them! :)
yes we will defenatly be keeping plenty of distance on the first few rides.
they say hello almost daily and are understanding to leave each other alone. almost no physical contact now or aggresive behaviour over the fence any more! that is a big emprovment.
Well, then so long as you're responsible it should be fine. And fun. My horse gets so happy and excited when riding with other horses!
Also keep in mind they may get a bit frisky being with other horses. Haha. :D
Thanks for the advice Fire Eyes!
