I'm getting worried about the little colt that was born here a few weeks ago. He seems to have one knee that is much bigger than the other and it is kind of an odd shape. He has had it since he was born, but I thought it might correct itself. It seems to almost have gotten worse. He can walk and gallop fine but when he stops, he kind of puts uneven pressure on the bigger knee and it wobbles. Here is a picture. What do you think it could be and can it be corrected if it is something bad? Thanks!
From watching many foals grow up on my dads breeding farm. I have to say have not seen one with and "oddball sized" knee...
Since you said the foal is now a few weeks old and there has been know change I would certainly get the Vet out and see what if anything is going on with this knee or if it is something that can be either vet helped or nature will have to take its course...
Keep us posted....
Thanks for the advice. I'll let the owner know it hasn't changed and then she can hopefully get a vet out as soon as she can.
