my horses pasterns
people have been telling me my horses pasterns are too long; are they? what can i do to help her; her hoove's are long in these picture's too...my farrier has been working hard to fix her hooves...i'll take a more up to date photograph of her pasterns and put it up for you guys...here's what i got though..http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/w...a/DSC02737.jpg
The remind me of my mares pasterns... and I don't think hers are too long. I think they look relatively normal, but then... my version of normal may be a bit skewed...
Well you can't help conformation. Long pasterns...on one hand they can make the horse super comfortable to ride but can lead to arthritis problems when the horse is older.
They are a little on the long side, but I don't necessarily think they are ultra long. The angle of the picture may make them look longer or shorter too. Just make sure your horse's hooves stay in good condition and she is balanced, and you've done all you can for her.
i will take better pictures tonight :]
