large lump on older horses throat!!!
i have a 12 yr old arabian gelding and i have noticed that he has a small lump on his throat,he has been treated for worms last weekend and it has grown or swollen or something,it has always been there but now it is bigger,i dont know what it is but its not affecting him any he still eats all his food he is very active, etc. hes normal but i can feel it and its like it is swollen,im having the vet come out for him to look at his swayback and ill ask him what that is,but id appreciate any help!
Have the vet check it out, it could strangle him..
it turned outit was a snake bite, any help on how to get the inflamation to get down?
How the heck did he manage to get a snake bit there?
i think he was grazing and it jumped up and bit him.snakes can jump twice their body lenght and we get pretty big snakes down in the valley were we live.the biggest one ive seen was a 5 foot long black racer.but yep theres two bite holes in his neck so i guess that proves that we migt have some more big snakes here.dont worry though ive never seen a piosonous one here.ive only ever seen black racers, rat snakes, and corn snakes, once ive seen a copperhead but i never saw another one after that.hes doing fine now its all healed the problem is the inflamation is getting on my nerves.
Have you tried a cold compress?
