She's my reason.
I just got my first horse this February, and have only been able to begin breaking her in the past couple of months. I've never had any experience breaking horses, although I've ridden problem horses for camps and individuals and worked as a groom as well as exercising horses. In only five rides, my girl has come SO far, and just takes my breath away and makes me cry tears of joy everytime I'm on her back. I'm so proud of her. She has truly lit up my life and given me reason and direction in my life.
Although I have worked with her mother and father and worked near her since she was a few months old, she's now five as of this June and is just full of spunk, surprises, and smarts. I'm always amazed at how much she gets out of each "lesson" or "session", whichever you please.

Here's a video of her from this past Friday-- My fourth ride on her, second time without anyone holding a lead for me (which I'm sure many people might find futile and a silly practice, but I found necessary for my own confidence and for a foundation of trust in her). In this video, she's learning how to turn to the right (which she downright refused to do leadless ride #1) and is being introduced into changing speeds.

This second bit of video was taken today. This is my fifth time on her back, third time without lead, and first time actually riding her outside of any sort of pen. She's showing her true colors and brains here, and has come SO far from just less than a week ago when I last rode her. Now she turns both left and right without a fuss, backs up, and walks, trots, AND gaits IN A STRAIGHT LINE! =D She also stops pretty well, but it takes her a minute to come to a complete stop still. Still, she's proving she's worth her weight in gold and will hopefully become a star one day. She seems to have HER eye set on that. =P

She's really cute! And she looks like she's doing really amazing for her fourth and fifth rides. O.o Congratulations! =)

I did notice that you're riding her in a Tom Thumb bit and if you're interested here's an article talking about why they're not the best for horses: Trouble with Tom Thumb
but still, great job!

If you find that she disappears, it wasn't me. =P

Awe thank you!
I started with the tom thumb bit at the suggestion of the breeder I got my horse from, who had helped me begin to train her but had to stop because of his back problems. He said it was a gentler bit and was what most of his trainers used to start horses.
I, however, have never trained a horse before this girl and am a bit dumb to it, but I think I'm doing okay.

Thanks for the article! I'll give it a read over and look for a more suitable bit.

=p and if she disappears, don't be alarmed when a stranger comes knocking at your door. XD i tease.
